桃園縣政府今(23)日在台大醫院國際會議中心舉辦「2014投資桃園 領航世界招商大會」，桃園縣長吳志揚出席並與國內外20家廠商共同簽署投資合作意向書(LOI)，共推桃園航空城。簽署廠商包括美商好市多(Costco)、大和房屋、法商迪卡儂、家樂福、國內大廠遠傳電信、手信坊等，總投資金額超過新台幣305億元。

吳縣長致詞時表示，桃園航空城計畫是繼十大建設之後，最大型的經濟建設計畫，同時也是國家級的旗艦計畫。這項計畫光是政府投資的金額就在5,000億元以上，更遑論建設完成之後由民間企業挹注進來的資金規模。他同時強調，這項計畫未來預期將可帶來30萬個就業機會，並連動帶來台幣7兆元的經濟效益。

Taoyuan County Magistrate John Wu announced that the county government has signed an investment Letter of Intent (LOI) on the Taoyuan Aerotropolis project with two dozens of local and foreign enterprises on Thursday, with total investment amounting to NT$30.5 billion. Wu said that the amount explains Taoyuan’s great potential in the eyes of domestic and foreign institutions. Wu also believes the project will be drawing more capital from international investors and will spur overall economic growth.

The media reported that the total investment amount on this project is estimated to exceed NT$500 billion, create 300,000 jobs, and bring in economic benefits of NT$7 trillion. The enterprises signing the LOI Thursday included Costco, Daiwa House, Decathlon, and FarEasTone, ranging from businesses in infrastructure construction, smart grid, sports and leisure, international medicare, and so on. (Source: Taiwan News)
